How Sifan Hassan Delivered Gold From Tokyo Olympic Games To The Netherlands After 29 Years

The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 was still in progress in Japan. I found myself watching it on television. The women’s 5000-meter run was absolutely electric and unbelievably powerful. The whole of the Netherlands was betting on one young woman to bring the gold back home. Below is how one of my favorite Dutch Television NOS Spot described the race on their YouTube Channel.

Hassan delivers athletics gold to the Netherlands after 29 years

"Sifan Hassan has lived up to all expectations. Beforehand, she was the big favorite for gold in the 5,000 meters and that favorite role was completely justified. She left everyone without a chance and ran superior to the gold. It is the first Dutch gold medal in athletics since Ellen van Langen won gold in the 800 meters in Barcelona in 1992."
