We had dinner at de Oude Plek a few weeks ago. This restaurant is located in one of the southernmost residential neighborhoods of Rotterdam, in walking distance from Lombardijen train station. If you've come here for delicious vegetarian and vegan food, you've found the right place. Don't be put off by the slightly derelict neighborhood, the unattractive exterior, or the butcher next door - this place is totally meat free and offers delicious vegetable meals, made from fresh vegetables, tofu, soy beans, and wheat gluten. The service is very friendly and accommodating to special requests (e.g., gluten-free). People come here all the way from Den Haag or Amsterdam to enjoy fabulous meat-free Chinese meals. Every 3rd Saturday of the month there is an all-you-can-eat buffet dinner. Definitely one of the best dining venues for vegetarians and vegans in Rotterdam! A hidden gem in Lombardijen. I have chosen Oude Plek Chinese restaurant in Rotterdam. Why? Because of all the positive reviews, customers and recommendations by my assistants. “De Oude Plek” basically means “The old place” in Dutch. Looking forward to visiting them soon.
